Make sushi in 10 steps!
Making sushi at home may seem daunting, but with some basic ingredients and tools, you can create your own delicious sushi rolls in no time.
First we have to set up our ingredients 🫶🏻🍣
- 4 rolls of sushi-seaweed (nori)
- 1 cup uncooked sushi rice
- 1 cup of cold water
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 5 tablespoons of rice vinegar
- Lastly, the meat and/or vegetable your choice
The steps 🥳
- Cook the rice in water until it boils, cover it till the rice is soft, and then remove it from the heat and let it cool.
- Chop your veggies and meat into strips
- Mix the rice vinegar and sugar. Then combine it into the rice
- Spread out a sheet of nori
- Cover it thinly with the rice, leaving a little bit of space along the top edge
- In the middle, lay out your fillings but don’t overfill your sushi roll!
- Now for the tricky part, grip the nori firmly, but still delicately and roll the sushi as tight as you can!
- Wet the empty top edge of the nori with water, so it can act as the glue for the sushi roll
- Cut up your roll into 3cm slices, to ensure maximum tastiness 😋
- Plate it up!
Sushi is not only tasty, but also healthy and nutritious. It is a great dish to share with your friends, or to enjoy by yourself.
