So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the best restaurants in Leicester!

Delicious eats in Leicester 🍽️

If you are looking for a delicious meal that won’t break the bank, Leicester has plenty of options for you.

📍 Daft Bird Leicester: This fast-food joint specialises in grilled chicken, burgers, wraps, and salads, with a variety of sauces and sides to choose from. You can get a meal deal for around £5, or a family bucket for around £15. The food is halal, and the restaurant is located at 137 Granby Street, LE1 6FJ, Leicester, and is open from 11.00 to 23.00 every day. A great option for those on a budget!

📍 Pho's: Pho Leicester is a Vietnamese restaurant with loads of vegan and gluten free options too. They specialise in pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup, and also serve delicious curries, rice dishes, wok-fried noodles and healthy salads, too. They are based on The High Street, (number 87) LE1 4JB and are around a 25 minute walk from main campus

📍 Kuru Kuru Leicester: A Sushi bar on 11 Welford Road, within 20 minutes of walking distance from the University of Leicester. It is very authentic Japanese food as the owner was trained in Japan. Prices are from £3.00. Service is immaculate and is open every day till 22.00 apart from Sundays.

📍 Rio’s: A fast food chain that specialises in chicken and burgers, with a touch of Portuguese flavour. They offer a variety of Piri Piri dishes, such as wings, strips, platters, and salads, with a choice of sauces and sides. The average price for a main course is around £8.00. Location is on Granby Place, LE1 1DE.

📍 The Merchant of Venice: The name, Merchant of Venice is of course inspired by Shakespeare’s classic tale and this theme makes it an incredibly Instagrammable place. The décor is rustic and charming, bringing an undeniably Venetian style café experience to Leicester.  They offer a selection of antipasti, salads, paninis and pasta dishes. The average price for a main course is around £14.00. They also provide more affordable and smaller options such as paninis and artisan coffee. The café is based on Loseby Lane, Leicester LE1 5DR.

📍 Anmol's: A vegetarian Indian chain that specialises in Panjabi snacks and sweets. It has branches on Welford Road and on Chestnut avenue in Oadby. Praised for its authentic, fresh, and tasty Indian sweets and snacks, particularly samosas, pakoras, and chaat. Anmol's is excellent value for money, with generous portions and affordable prices (it's only 60p for a samosa!).

For students there are some many options!

There are lots of good value and tasty options right in the heart of the city centre. Many places offer student discounts, so it's always worth asking for a deal.

Here are some more favourites of mine! These offerings are a bit more of a pricey, sit down meal option (if you're feeling fancy!).
