As part of our commitment to creating a university culture that is inclusive, inspiring, and impactful, all new students have a mandatory requirement to complete online training modules designed to help build a community that is safe, respectful, and empowering for all.

The Standing Together Team, based within Student Support Services, has developed an online learning module on Blackboard, featuring pre-recorded videos and digital content. These modules aim to deepen your understanding of consent and how to be an active bystander—important foundations for contributing to a respectful and supportive university environment.

How to access the training:

1. You have been auto-enrolled onto: Dignity and Respect Student Support Services Modules at Leicester – Please follow this link (https://blackboard.le.ac.uk/ultra/courses/_103124_1/outline)   

2. Under “Course Content,” you’ll find:

• Information about how to ‘Opt-out’ and the ‘Opt-out’ criteria ~
• Standing Together and Understanding Consent
• Standing Together Through Bystander Intervention

3. Click into each module to access the course materials.

4. Complete the knowledge test at the end to confirm your understanding.

What to expect:

• This training is completely online and can be completed in your own time.
• While it may appear in your timetable, you are encouraged to go through the modules at your own pace and in a way that feels comfortable.
• You can pause, stop, and return to the training whenever needed.
• To pass the module, you must achieve a score of 80% or higher on the final test.
• There is a short feedback form at the end of the module. Please take your time to share your thoughts.

We understand that everyone comes to this space with different experiences. These modules are designed to be supportive, informative, and empowering. If at any point you find the topics challenging or upsetting, please take your time. Support resources and signposting are available at the end of the session, and we encourage you to access them if needed.
